Parking outside the shop

Parking outside the shop.

To help Michaela with deliveries, and customers with shopping, Dorset Highways have responded to the request of the Parish Council and, following a period of consultation, have implemented a short stretch of parking restrictions. The road has been marked, and the regulations are on a board on the wall of the shop.

Parking is restricted to 30mins between 8am and 6pm Monday to Saturday.

Please help the shop to run smoothly by respecting this restriction.

COVID-19 cases rising

Public Health update on COVID-19 in Dorset

We are continuing to see a rise in COVID-19 infections across Dorset. Case rates in both the Dorset Council area and Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council area are now around double last week’s figures. The situation has changed quickly in recent weeks – at the start of June case rates were around 5 per 100,000 in Dorset and 10 in BCP.

Cases are highest amongst the younger age groups, particularly 15-24 year olds. We know that these younger age groups are less likely to have protection against COVID-19 as many will still be unvaccinated. We aren’t seeing a significant impact on our hospitals due to the rise in cases yet. There are currently five patients in hospitals across Dorset with COVID-19.

Vaccines for the 25s and over

Everyone aged 25 or over can now be vaccinated

If you are aged 25 or over, or will turn 25 before 1 July 2021, you can now book your COVID-19 vaccine.

It’s important that you have 2 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine at 2 appointments and that you get the 2nd dose 8 to 12 weeks after getting your 1st dose.

Vaccinating as many people as possible is going to break the link between infection and hospital/death, please urge anyone you know who is over 25 to book a vaccination.

Follow the rules after you’ve been vaccinated

A message from Public Health Dorset

Follow the rules after you’ve been vaccinated

The vaccine offers the best protection against COVID-19, but after you have been vaccinated, it’s important to continue to follow the rules, to help stop the spread of the virus.

It’s important to follow social distancing guidance, wear a face covering and wash your hands before you leave your house and when you return.
