BROADMEAD PLANNING APPLICATION

BROADMEAD PLANNING APPLICATION

At Dorset Council’s Planning Committee Meeting yesterday (20th July) the committee members resolved not to accept the planning officer’s recommendation to refuse SSL’s application. Instead they recorded that they are “minded” to approve the application at their September meeting providing that certain legal agreements with the applicants have been reached.

I think it would be fair to say that, during the committee’s deliberations, the fact that the application has the potential to provide Dorset Council with access to 80 affordable homes totally overwhelmed any consideration of the suitability of the site for development.

The village is indebted to those who spoke for it at the meeting but whose points were unfortunately almost completely ignored. Andrew Mason, Barry Eason, Dominic Stubbing, Mark Cady, and Steve Diamond.
