Knighton Lane closure 24th – 26th October

DC Highways have received an application from Openreach to close Knighton Lane, Broadmayne between Oakwood and Spring Gardens (in both directions), a distance of approximately 130 metres. The closure has been requested to allow Openreach to provide a safe working zone to lay new duct. These works are programmed to commence between 09:30 and 15:30 from 24th October 2022 until 26th October 2022.

Fortunately this is during the school’s half term but we have investigated what this means to the bus route and have been told the following:

“The Service 5 will still serve Broadmayne, it will use the bus stop on the A352. And opposite as a temporary stop.

The service will not serve West Knighton during the closure and will divert along the A352 to Warmwell roundabout and then go on to serve Crossways to Weymouth. Dorchester bound would serve Crossways and then divert via Warmwell through Broadmayne to Dorchester.

 This will be advertised on the vehicles and media outlets before and during the closure.”
